Air tightness (air permeability) testing measures uncontrolled air leakage from a dwelling. New homes in England must demonstrate Part L compliance, and the result feeds into the property's SAP energy calculation.
Most new and converted dwellings that share a wall or floor with another property require Part E sound insulation testing before sign-off. We carry out both airborne and impact sound tests.
Air tightness, ventilation and sound testing are carried out once the property is substantially complete but before handover. A Phase 1 desk study is done early, at the site-assessment stage.
