A RICS Home Survey Level 1 (Condition Report) is the most concise RICS survey. It uses a simple traffic-light system to rate the condition of the main parts of the property and highlights urgent defects and risks, without detailed advice or a valuation.
Level 1 is best for newer, conventional homes that appear to be in good condition. For older, larger, altered or unusual properties — or anything where you want advice on defects — a Level 2 or Level 3 survey is usually a better fit.

It's a focused snapshot: condition ratings for the key elements and a summary of anything urgent. It doesn't go into the depth of advice and investigation you get with a Level 3 Building Survey.
